Shree Aniruddha Upasana Foundation(SAUF) trains its volunteers and bhaktas to use the charkha. These volunteers and bhaktas then produce hanks (ladis) with the help of the charkha. The Foundation arranges to get fabrics made from the yarn which is produced from these hanks. Uniforms made from this fabric are distributed free of cost to needy students living in areas which are below the poverty line.
As a result, the schools in these areas where such distributions take place witness greater enrollment of students, higher attendance rate, sizable reduction in the number of school drop-outs and increase in literacy. This in turn leads to reduction of illiteracy, improved standard of living and overall development and progress of these areas.
So far the distribution has taken place only at 'Kolhapur' during the Medical and Health Services Camp which is held every year in the Pendakhale village (about 50 km from Kolhapur city). This distribution is an on-going activity which takes place throughout the year.
