Concept and Vision

Sadguru Shree Aniruddha Bapu’s discourse on the 13 Point programme which was held in the year 2003 was a unique one. Bapu introduced a very beautiful concept, the "Charkha Project" under 13 Point Programme. Bapu himself spins the Charkha and inspires others to the same.

Concept and Vision:

The Charkha project is not just a solution to a problem but also a step towards self-sufficiency that intends to crack the vicious circle of poverty and illiteracy. Our bond with the Charkha or the spinning wheel is old and sentimental – it is a gift from Mahatma Gandhi to all of us. We have experienced its strength. The charkha project revives this bond and gives us this wonderful tool that provides clothing for the poor and needy.

Need:

Clothing being one of the three basic human needs, deprivation of clothing indicates poverty, scarcity or the aftermath of a natural calamity. For children of school-going age in rural and urban areas alike, not having enough clothes to cover their body leads to absenteeism. Thus, unleashes a chain of unfortunate circumstances like illiteracy and ignorance; and perpetuating poverty and eliminates the possibility of progress.
